About CameoEZ

CAMEO EZ© is a web site system for e-commerce and content management geared especially for wholesalers in the Gift, Home, and Garden industries, as well as working well for everything from greeting card to apparel wholesalers, enabling them to offer their products for ordering by retail stores in a password-protected environment. CAMEO EZ©'s content management features allow easy ("EZ") creation and updating of product data and images, custom pages and features such as Trade Show calendar and Sale Rep territories.

CAMEO EZ© is the latest incarnation of web site management software that first appeared in 1999. Created for Sales Rep Agencies in the Gift and Décor industry, CAMEO© stood for "Complete Automated Merchant Electronic Ordering". "Complete", because it was much more than a shopping cart, but a web site management system. "Automated", because it allowed people who didn't know HTML or programming to manage their own web sites without paying designers or programmers to make small changes. "Merchant", because, while there were many retail e-commerce shopping carts, the industry needed a wholesale (B-to-B) system that could require minimum orders, minimum item quantities, etc. "Electronic Ordering", because on the web, ordering could take place at the convenience of the buyer in a format that has become familiar.

The system was modified for manufacturers in 2000 and several upgrades added in 2001. In 2002, work was begun on the specifications that would become CAMEO EZ . The new system includes the features of the old but is based on completely new technology. A better, centralized database system allows sharing of data between manufacturer, sales rep, and retail sites, giving the manufacturer better quality control over pricing and images, giving Sales Rep Agencies the ability to maintain their multi-line web sites without it costing so much in updates and without duplicating the efforts of fellow Sales Reps. Building product pages has never been easier using the CAMEO EZ© Item Spreadsheet. Simply filling out an Excel spreadsheet allows you to completely organize your ordering pages, establishing Categories, applying searchable Keywords to each SKU, and creating extra-cost options. In addition, there is now an editor that allows changes to individual items without importing a new spreadsheet and complete web site price lists can be exported as well.
